Please include the following information:

What: What is the event, the name of the performance, event, or artist?

When: When is the event, what date(s) and what time does the concert start, exhibition open and close, etc.

Where: Where is the event? The name of the building, a street address, etc. are helpful for people who want to attend and are not familiar with your community. Where can tickets be purchased in advance? What is the phone number for purchasing tickets by phone?

How: How can I get tickets? When is the box office open? Can I use a credit card? Can I get tickets at other locations?

Who: Who is the presenting organization and who can people contact for added information, artist information, programs, donations? Who can KRPS contact for added information and to learn of future events?

Calendar of Events Policy

Priority for inclusion is at the discretion of the KRPS Program Director. Pittsburg State University events, particularly visiting professional classical music performers, are generally given priority. The Calendar is used to promote predominantly classical music, jazz, theater, and art exhibits. Events are included based on their appeal to the KRPS audience.

There is no guarantee of any specific event airing on the Calendar for any day or time. The Calendar may be preempted without notice. Information for submission to the Calendar may not be taken by phone. Information regarding tickets, times, location, etc. must be mailed to KRPS. Items without such information may not be included in the Calendar.

The only telephone number given over the air is KRPS' number. KRPS staff has access to additional material about events should listeners inquire. Events that are free will be made known, but no ticket prices will be given over the air.

Calendar events which are subsequently cancelled may be announced as such, as soon as KRPS is notified by the same source as provided the initial information.

KRPS will not enter into correspondence about the content of the Calendar or matters arising from events included or omitted from the Calendar.

Public Service Announcement Guidelines

We have fixed availabilities for PSA’s.. No requests will be taken in regards to specific times and KRPS cannot guarantee particular times or days.

KRPS will re-write provided copy to our on-air style. All PSA’s are 30 seconds in length.

KRPS’ phone number will be used on air and we will refer interested callers to any number and organization provides.

KRPS has the final decision on which PSA materials are aired based on the time slots available and the nature of the event. Arts events will go on the Calendar of events.

We are particularly interested in events/programs that benefit people living in the Four States area – they will have priority.

Information about events MUST reach KRPS in writing 2 weeks in advance of the event.
