The last ten games between the Lady Gorillas and Lady Lions are even at 5-5. Historically, Pittsburg State women’s basketball has dominated Missouri Southern earning a record of 21 and 10. At one point PSU WBB defeated MSSU WBB in seven straight games from January of 2016 to February of 2019.

Bootcamps also will be held on March 14 in Emporia, March 18 in Hutchinson, March 20 in Dodge City, March 22 in Hays, and March 26 in Concordia.

The festival has reached capacity, with more than 70 high school and middle school bands on tap to come to Pittsburg to perform and be judged. Beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, student bands will take turns playing for a group of judges who are experienced educators and musicians.

This year the Lady Gorillas extended their streak of at least ten consecutive seasons of earning at least a .500 record in MIAA conference play. The team's worst record over the previous ten year is 11-11 during the 2021-2022 season.

In 2022, Anthony's Pitt State defensive squad led the MIAA in scoring defense (14.1 ppg) and ranked second in the conference in total defense (282.6 ypg), rushing defense (93.0 ypg), passing defense (189.6 ypg) and sacks (31).

Pittsburg State and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation will use a model established at Washburn University in Topeka. The new space will offer space to several agencies including Kansas Highway Patrol, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Pittsburg Police Department.
