While driving down an East Texas country road I spotted this scene. The autumn trees and the late afternoon sun made these golden bales of hay shine just a little bit more. Fortunately I had my camera with me. (c) James Q. Eddy Jr.

Paul McCartney, former member of the Beatles, tops rich list of British musicians

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep. How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people? That's a line from a Beatles song, "Baby, You're A Rich Man," and Paul McCartney ought to know. The annual Sunday Times Rich List says the former Beatle is the first British musician to be a billionaire.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "BABY YOU'RE A RICH MAN")

THE BEATLES: (Singing) Baby, you're a rich man, too. You keep all your money in a big brown bag inside a zoo.

INSKEEP: That doesn't sound wise. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
