We’re excited to announce that Four States Public Radio is now offering the NPR+ podcast bundle as a special thank you gift for sustaining members who commit to donating more than $8/month or $96/year.

What is NPR+?

NPR+ is a special collection of podcast benefits that includes bonus episodes, sponsor-free listening, and even early access for some of NPR’s most popular podcasts. This means you can listen to podcasts like Up First or Code Switch with no inserted sponsor breaks, and you can even enjoy bonus episodes and behind the scenes content for shows like Planet Money, Fresh Air, and Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me. You can see all of the included podcasts on the homepage of plus.npr.org, but you can only get the whole bundle by donating through a specific station like KRPS!

How do I get NPR+?

It’s easy - just set up a recurring donation to KRPS at a minimum of $8/month or $96/year at https://krps.plus.npr.org/ . Once your sustaining donation is confirmed, you’ll get an invite email to set up your account. In some cases this invite may take a few days, so we appreciate your patience!

I’m already a donor to KRPS, do I get access to the NPR+ Podcast Bundle automatically?

If you have an existing recurring donation in our system for a minimum of $8/month or $96/year, then yes, you can get NPR+ (but not automatically). It requires some manual work on our end to grant you access. First, check your email inbox to see if maybe we’ve sent you an invite to NPR+ already. If you haven’t received an email inviting you to activate your account, but you are sure that you have an existing recurring donation for more than $8/month or $96/year, then just email us at afletcher-fierro@pittstate.edu and we’ll help you get set up!

What podcasts are currently available with NPR+?

Many of NPR's most popular podcasts are included, like Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!+, The NPR Politics Podcast+, Planet Money+, and more. See plus.npr.org for the (always growing) full list of shows.

Wait... Do I have to pay to listen to these NPR podcasts now?

No! NPR podcasts will remain free (but will include inserted sponsorship messages).

All NPR+ versions of these podcasts offer sponsor-free listening (which removes the automatically inserted sponsor-breaks wherever possible), and a select number of them also offer bonus content.

I already have a recurring donation to my local public radio station. Do I get NPR+ podcasts automatically?

Unfortunately no, you do not have automatic access to NPR+ podcasts due to technical limitations of this new program. At this time, you'll need to select a plan on this site. Thank you for supporting your local station and for considering NPR+!

How do I listen to a podcast's sponsor-free feed?

Once you've signed up, you'll see a page with instructions for setting up your feed(s) in your podcast app of choice. The process is very simple, and you can always access instructions by signing in and navigating to the Account page (link at the top of this page), then selecting Podcasts in the menu on the top left.
