Reagan's southeast Kansas events -
The Southeast Kansas Humane Society is hosting its annual chili dinner on February 7th. All proceeds from the $8 meals go towards helping the shelter animals. That goes from 12 to 4 p.m. at Memorial Auditorium in Pittsburg.
Also February 7th, the Scrabble Club is meeting at the Pittsburg Public Library from 1 to 3 p.m. It’s a come and go event and you can play as many games as you wish.
And on February 14th, participate in or donate to the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Kansas. It starts at 12 p.m. at the Crimson Villas in Pittsburg. More information can be found at soks.org.
Raegan's southwest Missouri events -
The Joplin History and Mineral Museum will be open again this week following display updates, including a new Route 66 exhibit. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for February 6th at 11 a.m.
February 7th, the Joplin Public Library is hosting a Black History Fair from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Attendees will learn from community members and organizations about Black history, the present and future in Joplin and beyond. The event is open to all ages.
And February 14th, see An American Love Song, a performance by Glenda Austin at the Cornell Complex. The musical tribute features patriotic, folk and jazz songs, as well as classic love songs for Valentine’s Day. That starts at 4 p.m.

The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas and Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas are hosting a seminar titled, Foundations of Grant Writing: Making Every Proposal Count Thursday, February 12 starting at 1 pm in Pittsburg. It will also be streamed live as a Zoom webinar.
Support for KRPS is provided by Pittsburg State University who welcomes the David Osborne Trio Wednesday February 18 at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. Osborne, known worldwide as “the pianist to the presidents,” has performed at the White House more than 75 times. Osborne last performed at the Bicknell Center a decade ago during its grand opening. A kids fair is on the horizon at the Joplin Public Library Saturday February 21 from 2 to 3:30 pm. This fair is open to kids ages 5-12 and their families. Come enjoy games, crafts, activities, prizes, face painting, and snacks with us in the Community Room! This fair is to benefit Children's Haven, an emergency children's home in Joplin.
Do you love sushi and want to learn how to make it? Nexus, an Ozark Community Hospital is hosting a sushi making class Saturday February 28 from 3 to 5 pm. Learn to craft five delicious sushi varieties with guidance from the Executive Chef, whose Japanese heritage brings authentic expertise to every roll. A sushi roll making class in Webb City Saturday February 28.
The second annual Clover Run in Carthage is taking place Saturday March 7 starting at 9 am. The event is hosted by the Joplin Roadrunners and benefits Crosslines Ministries and 4-H of Jasper County in Carthage. Both races start at the Route-66 Drive-in theater on Old Route 55 in Brooklyn Heights. The second annual Clover 5 and 12 k races Saturday March 7.
