QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer — three simple steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. The instruction is taking place Monday April 13th and the 27, and Monday May 11 all starting at 1 pm at the Crawford County Mental Health Center in Pittsburg.

The Joplin Interfaith Coalition will hold its annual bake sale on Saturday, March 28 at the Islamic Society of Joplin. This year, they are working with Solace House, which provides end-of-life care at no charge to patients. Proceeds from the sale will help fund additional beds at their facilities. The Ozark Festival Orchestra will conclude its 46th season of concerts in Monett at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, with the annual Marty Beckwith Memorial Pops Concert, held this year at Monett High School. March 24th, support the Southeast Kansas Humane Society by playing bingo. Pay $10 for 10 rounds of bingo at the Holmer Cole Community Center in Pittsburg starting at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to the shelter.
And March 25th, join the National Alliance on Mental Illness for the Standing in the Gap Mental Health Summit. Stakeholders from across the state will discuss challenges to accessing mental health care in rural areas, and possible solutions. It starts at 9 a.m. at the Parolo Education Center in Pittsburg. Reagan's southwest Missouri events
March 21st is another Joplin Empire Market. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., shop for your weekly groceries or find unique gifts. There will also be live music until noon from local artist Caleb Miller.
March 21st and 22nd, the George Washington Carver National Monument is showing Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom. The documentary is about Tubman’s work as a Civil War scout, nurse, spy and conductor of the Underground Railroad. It starts at 1 p.m. both days.
And March 24th, the Joplin Public Library is hosting an Old Hollywood Movie Night. The program is meant for adults and will feature two movies: Baby Face and The Public Enemy. That starts at 5 p.m.
