Joplin's Juneteenth celebration is on the horizon, Friday June 19 and Saturday 20th at Hope Park located at 131 High Street in Joplin. Hosted by the Joplin East town Dreams district the event celebrates freedom, history and progress. That's Joplin's Juneteenth celebration starting Friday June 19.

The Neosho Art Council wraps up their 2026 concert series at the Neosho Fish Hatchery Saturday June 20 starting at 11:30. Marking of Make Music Day featuring the Soft Rock/Pop/Folk duo, Common Roots. Named the 2024 Acoustic Artist of the Year by the Arkansas Country Music Awards. The Neosho Arts Council welcomes Common Roots, Saturday June 20.

The Joplin Mineral and History Museum is hosting Unearth Joplin: A Mining and Mineral History Thursday June 25 starting at 5:30 pm. The city of Pittsburg is holding a variety of events including food trucks, kids and family activities and a concert. Also, 

Pittsburg State's College of Education will host a new camp especially for high school students who dream of a career in teaching. The Gorilla Educators in Training Camp will be held on campus June 23–24, offering high school students an immersive, hands-on introduction to education. Enrollment is limited to 40 students.

Finally,

Catching Shadows on the Plains is now on display through December 31 at the Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve in Bartellsville, Oklahoma. The exhibit highlights Edward S. Curtis. Born in Wisconsin in 1868, Curtis developed an early interest in photography. At the age of twelve, he built his own camera using a lens his father brought home from the Civil War. Catching Shadows on the Plains at the Woolaroc Museum for the remainder of the year.

Raegan's southeast Kansas events

An area-wide garage sale is set for June 12th and 13th in St. Paul, Walnut, Hepler, Greenbush, Stark and Brazilton. A map of all the sales will be posted on the Walnut Events Facebook page. That’s the area-wide garage sale June 12th and 13th.

June 16th is the Pittsburg Public Library’s monthly book discussion. June’s book is “There There” by Tommy Orange. The discussion will start at 1:30 p.m. on the 16th. New readers are welcome.

And June 20th, join Ron’s Supermarket in Pittsburg for their 50th anniversary celebration. The event will go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a Jeep give away at 11 a.m. There will also be a produce sale, door prizes and samples from the bakery and deli.

Raegan's southwest Missouri events

June 13th, commemorate Flag Day with a program at the George Washington Carver National Monument. The Thirteen Colonies and Their Flags will start at 1 p.m. on the 13th and feature storyteller and reenactor Kavan Stull.

June 14th, the JOMO Area Storytellers are hosting a Story Slam at Joplin Avenue Coffee Company. Participants will have five minutes to present a personal story following the theme “On the Road.” That starts at 2:30 p.m. on the 14th.

And EastTown Dreams District in Joplin is hosting a Juneteenth celebration June 19th and 20th at Hope Park. It will feature cultural performances, live entertainment, food and more. The full schedule can be found at easttowndreamsdistrict.org.
