Fred's southeast Kansas events

The Pittsburg Community Theater is back in action starting Friday October 2 for a three day run of Disney's Frozen, The Musical. Featuring stunning stage magic and unforgettable songs—including favorites from the film and thrilling new numbers. Frozen, The Musical at Pittsburg's Memorial Auditorium October 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

The Columbus, Kansas hot air balloon festival gets underway Friday October 9 running through Sunday October 11. Events includes a scarecrow contest, a quilt show, and a little Ms and Mr. Columbus Crowning. That's the Columbus hot air balloon festival starting Friday October 9.

Finally,

Pittsburg State Midwest Trumpet Festival is taking place October 4 and 5th. The festival, directed by PSU's Todd Hastings, brings together trumpet students, educators, professionals, and enthusiasts for two days of learning, performance, and collaboration. Pittsburg State's Midwest Trumpet Festival at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts starting Sunday October 4.

Fred's southwest Missouri events

The Neosho Fall Festival is on the way, Saturday October 3. Taking place on the Neosho square, the beloved annual event brings our community together for a full day of family fun, local shopping, and festive activities you won’t want to miss. That's the Neosho Fall Festival, one day only Saturday October 3.

Apple Making Butter Days in Mount Vernon, Missouri is not so far away! Friday October 9 through Sunday the 11th. Learn how to make apple butter, there are also bubble blowing and apple pie making competitions. Apple Making Butter Days in Mount Vernon starting Friday October 9.

Finally,

The Marvelous Wonderettes, the smash off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! It will be performed at Missouri Southern State University's Bud Walton Theater Thursday October 8 and Friday the 9th.

Raegan's southeast Kansas events

September 12th visit the 4th Street Market at In The Garden in Pittsburg. The local artist and vendor market features baked goods, clothing, handmade jewelry and more. That’s the 4th Street Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 12th.

Also September 12th is the Crawford County Historical Museum’s Living History Day. See Bleeding Kansas skirmishes, learn about Native American history and more. The activities start at 9 a.m.

And September 19th is the 2026 Walk To End Alzheimer’s. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. that day at Pitt State’s Gorilla Village. There will be an opening ceremony at 9:15, followed by the walk at 10.

Raegan's southwest Missouri events

September 11th, North Heights Porchfest is holding a teaser concert at The Main Event in Joplin. The event will preview the upcoming 10th annual Porchfest. Doors open on the 11th at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7.

September 12th is Prairie Day at the George Washington Carver National Monument. See demonstrations of basket weaving, blacksmithing and more, visit interactive exhibits and enjoy live music. That’s Prairie Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

And September 17th there will be a blood drive at the Joplin Public Library. It’ll go from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the community room. Visit redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment.
