While driving down an East Texas country road I spotted this scene. The autumn trees and the late afternoon sun made these golden bales of hay shine just a little bit more. Fortunately I had my camera with me. (c) James Q. Eddy Jr.

Aquila Theatre in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s "The Hound of the Baskervilles"

Aquila Theatre ventures onto the fog-shrouded moors of England in this inventive, suspenseful adaptation of "The Hound of the Baskervilles". With comedy, mystery, and dynamic staging, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson unravel a supernatural legend in a “play within a play” setting—joined by the ever-resourceful Mrs. Hudson and eccentric actor Sir Anthony Knee-Cap. Known for their bold, innovative productions, Aquila Theatre invites audiences to step into a world of intrigue and laughter, where solving the case might just require the audience’s help. This performance is part of Connect2Culture's Curtains Up Series 2025–2026. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets may be purchased at connect2culture.org, (417) 621-9824, or at the C2C box office inside the Cornell Complex (Tue–Sat | 1–5pm). Tickets: $50–$55.
