Goblin Market: Curiosities & Wonders Street Fair
Adults and young people who enjoy a spooky theme, costumes, arts, crafts, and more will delight in an upcoming event in downtown Pittsburg, KS.
The Goblin Market: Curiosities & Wonders Street Fair, slated for 3 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, will showcase more than 20 artists, crafters, face painting, supernatural vendors and readers. Vendors and attendees alike are encouraged to come in costume, browse and shop the fair, enjoy a reading at Eclectic Soul Studio and enjoy refreshments from nearby restaurants and TJ Leland’s. Performance and musical buskers are encouraged to come and perform as well.
For this event, sponsored by SEK Arts Community, West 6th Street will be closed to traffic between Broadway and Pine Streets. This will ensure a safe and fun environment for the fair.
“The purpose of the Goblin Market was to bring an arts and crafts event that was themed for Halloween and encouraged people to dress up and have a good time,” said Event Organizer Allen Childers. “I was inspired by the Curiosities & Oddities Expo that happens in larger cities and wanted to emulate that with a street fair vibe.”
After the Goblin Market, a Monster Ball & Costume Contest kicks off at 9 p.m. at TJ Leland’s with DJ Meg McCoy.
