While driving down an East Texas country road I spotted this scene. The autumn trees and the late afternoon sun made these golden bales of hay shine just a little bit more. Fortunately I had my camera with me. (c) James Q. Eddy Jr.

Goblin Market: Wonders and Curiosities Street Fair

The SEK Arts Community is celebrating spooky season with an event featuring funky crafts, eclectic art, supernatural readings and fiery performances.

From 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, community members can don their costumes and head to the Pritchett Pavilion, 106 W. 2nd Street in Pittsburg where they can engage in the sights, sounds and smells of the Goblin Market: Wonders and Curiosities Street Fair.

More than 40 vendors and entertainers are scheduled to awe and delight crowds. This event focuses on the weird, quirky or unique side of creativity. Many vendors will also have Halloween-themed or inspired items.

Besides browsing wares, attendees can enjoy free entertainment including jazzy music by The Fun Club, belly dancing, macabre poetry reading, and fire dancing.

A ghostly figure with a typewriter will provide intuitive one-line readings for free but will welcome tips. Tarot and oracle readings will be available for cost. For more information regarding the event or the organization, email sekartscommunity@gmail.com or join the SEK Arts Community Facebook group.
