Opal’s Walk for Freedom 2026 – National 10 City Walk

National Opal’s Walk for Freedom is a nationally coordinated event honoring the legacy of Dr. Opal Lee and celebrating Juneteenth as a reminder that freedom is an ongoing journey.

In 2026, the Walk will take place across ten cities: Flagship: Washington, DC, and Legacy: Fort Worth, TX; Cincinnati, OH; Los Angeles, CA; Birmingham, AL; Honolulu, HI, Evanston, IL, Detroit, MI, Grant’s Pass, OR; and St. Paul, MN; uniting communities to reflect on history, promote civic engagement, and inspire collective action.
