Lawrence Prepares for Influx of World Soccer Fans

The World Cup is coming to Kansas City this June and July. And that means a lot of soccer fans will be staying in Lawrence. Ruth DeWitt, with the organization Explore Lawrence, says as many as 15,000 soccer fans could be headed to the college town.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KPR) - The city of Lawrence is gearing up for an influx of thousands of soccer fans in advance of World Cup soccer matches which will be played in Kansas City this June and July. The Kansas City Business Journal reports that the English national soccer team will stay in Prairie Village. But what about Lawrence? KPR's J. Schafer has more.
