Missouri Storytelling, Inc, as known as “MO-TELL” is an organization of storytellers dedicated to spreading the joy and art of storytelling throughout Missouri. Mo-Tell will hold an event Friday July 10 at the Joplin Avenue Coffee Company at 7pm. It's a part of the 12th Annual Liars Contest. That's Friday July 10.

You don't want to miss Carver Day will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This year commemorates the 83rd anniversary of George Washington Carver’s passing and the subsequent establishment of the National Park on July 14, 1943, the first one to honor an African American. Carver day in Diamond, Missouri July 11.

Summer is here, and the Shoal Creek Water Festival is nearly upon us, taking place Saturday July 25. Get ready for some awesome activities like cardboard boat races crafted by clever and brave participants, shoebox boat races where kids can showcase their cool creations, and a thrilling rubber duck race. The Four State Farm show at Pittsburg State is almost here. Friday July 10 through Sunday July 12. Indoor exhibits will be in the Robert W. Plaster Center. Outdoor exhibits also will be on display. Free parking and admission. The Four State Farm show starts Friday July 10.

Join Pittsburg State at Carnie Smith Stadium Thursday July 30 for a community Movie Night featuring the 2025 movie , Superman. Enjoy food trucks, drinks, and superhero action under the stars. Open to Pitt State students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. That's July 30th. Gates open at 8:30 p.m., and the movie begins at dark!

Pittsburg State and the Kelece College of Business will host a ribbon cutting for their new facility in downtown Pittsburg, Tuesday August 11. The new home for Kelce College will include room for programs that positively impact the business community as well as students. The ribbon cutting takes place on August 11.
Raegan's southeast Kansas events -
July 11th, the Camptown Event Center in Frontenac is hosting Southeast Kansas Trade Days. Local vendors will be selling produce, handmade items and more from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. That’s the Southeast Kansas Trade Days on the 11th.
July 13th is Food Truck Monday in Walnut. El Gordo Tacos and Weaver Tropical Snow will be at the Mike Fox Memorial Park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Food Truck Monday in Walnut on the 13th.
And July 18th, the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg is holding the Salute to Service Family Day Fundraiser. Enjoy games, food and a silent auction to support the Outside the Wire Veterans Foundation. That starts at 11 a.m. on the 18th.
Raegan's southwest Missouri events -
July 11th is the Missouri Liars Contest hosted by Mo-Tell Storytelling at the Joplin Avenue Coffee Company. Hear storytellers perform their original tall tales starting at 2 p.m. Related events will be going on throughout the day. More information is available at mo-tell.org.
Also July 11th is the monthly Bison Saunter at Prairie State Park. The approximately two mile walk will start at 10 a.m. at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center. Register by calling 417-843-6711.
And July 16th, the Joplin Public Library is hosting Unearth Your Story as a part of their summer reading program. Attendees will tour the library’s genealogy department and learn about other available resources. That starts at 2 p.m. on the 16th.
