While driving down an East Texas country road I spotted this scene. The autumn trees and the late afternoon sun made these golden bales of hay shine just a little bit more. Fortunately I had my camera with me. (c) James Q. Eddy Jr.

People in Kansas are not happy with the new license plate design

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel. Have you ever put so much thought into a project, and then when you give it the big reveal, people hate it? Well, that feeling might be how the people who designed Kansas' new license plate feel right now. With a yellow background and a black banner on top, some Kansans say it looks too much like New York's plates or the University of Missouri's colors. Governor Laura Kelly says it's back to the drawing board, and Kansans will get to vote on a new design. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
