President Barack Obama unveiled a $3.6 trillion spending plan that pushes this year's deficit to levels not seen seen World War II. Longer term, though, the budget seeks to cut the deficit back to size by 2013. The budget can also be seen as a blueprint for the president's ambitious policy goals.

Whitey Bulger Bio Profiles Boston's Most Notorious Gangster
Reporters Kevin Cullen and Shelley Murphy, who covered Bulger for years for The Boston Globe, have a book out about the career criminal. Bulger was wanted for 19 murders when he was captured by the FBI in 2011. Jury selection for his trial begins June 6.

Missouri Historical Society dedicates new collection to renowned Black doctor’s legacy
The Missouri Historical Society has unveiled a new collection dedicated to Dr. John H. Gladney. Gladney became the first Black ear, nose and throat specialist in St. Louis as well as the first Black doctor in the country to lead a department of otolaryngology.

Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher and his allies complained for weeks that the ethics investigation into his alleged misconduct was dragging out unnecessarily. But, it turns out the delay may have been the Speaker himself.

Sheryl Crow announced her final album in 2019. She has since reconsidered her position. Her 2024 album is called Evolution.
