Missouri House Republicans push a $1 billion tax cut that would slice corporate rate in half
The GOP bill would cut Missouri's corporate income tax rate in half, cut the top rate on personal income taxes, and exempt Social Security payments from taxation. Democrats, however, said another cut — coming on top of a tax cut approved in September that has not been fully implemented — would put the state into a potentially precarious financial position.
Millions of additional salaried workers could get overtime pay under Biden proposal
A proposal from the Labor Department would make an estimated 3.6 million salaried workers newly eligible for overtime pay. It covers workers earning less than $55,000 per year.

Senate passes $901 billion defense bill that pushes Hegseth for boat strike video
The Senate has given final passage to the annual National Defense Authorization Act, which raises troop pay by 3.8%. It also pressures Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to provide lawmakers with video of strikes on alleged drug boats near Venezuela.
