The Mystery of Havana Syndrome
In the fall of 2016, just two years after Obama reopened diplomatic relations with Cuba, a few American diplomats started hearing high-pitched, eerie buzzing sounds in their houses and at a nearby hotel.
Shortly thereafter, some of them experienced debilitating symptoms such as headaches, fatigues, trouble reading, bloody noses, and brain fog. The mysterious affliction, dubbed 'Havana Syndrome,' seemed to spread among American diplomats, and then across the globe.
Then, the questions burst forth: what happened to them? Were they being attacked, and if so, by whom? Was there a weapon involved, or were the patients undergoing a collective stress response?
