Effective Monday, April 14 KRPS will add three new music shows to our weeknight lineup and add second airings of two listener favorites.
KRPS listeners will now be able to enjoy an additional broadcast of All Songs Considered Monday night at 7 followed by Alt. Latino at 7:30. (You can also hear ASC Sunday at 9 p.m. and Alt. Latino Sunday nights at 9:30)
Since launching in 2000, All Songs Considered has been NPR's flagship program for music discovery, artist interviews, and conversations with friends and fellow music lovers.
The global Latinx community is evolving and growing fast. Alt. Latino is here to celebrate it and all of its nuances through music. ASC and Alt. Latino are also available ad-free through NPR+. It’s also a great way to support KRPS and the NPR shows you love listening to.
ASC and Alt. Latino will join three completely new music shows Tuesday through Thursday at 7 pm.
Hear a new hour of great jazz with Live From The Green Lady Lounge on Tuesday nights at 7. Groove to the beat of Kansas City's top jazz talents as they perform live at the city's premier jazz club: Green Lady Lounge. (Hear a second broadcast of Live at the Green Lady Lounge Saturday nights at 10 pm)
If you enjoy local artists from across Kansas, you’ll enjoy 105 Live. An entire hour is dedicated to showcasing musicians across the Sunflower state. You can hear 105 Live Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., with a rebroadcast Sunday nights at 11 p.m.
And, you don’t want to miss the nationwide premiere of Tiny Desk Radio from NPR this Thursday night at 7. For the past 16 years, some of the world’s greatest musicians have performed behind a regular office desk at NPR HQ. With discovery acts and music superstars from a multitude of genres, Tiny Desk fans can now enjoy some of their favorite concerts through this weekly hour-long radio broadcast program. You can also hear Tiny Desk Radio Saturday nights at 11.
You also don’t want to miss a recent addition to the KRPS schedule Starlight Jazz with Phil Wise. The show features the finest jazz music of the idiom from the classic big bands of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Woody Herman to the improvisational giants of jazz such as Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz and so many more. New and upcoming musicians are featured as well as interviews with professional artists and jazz musicians from our four-state region. Hear Starlight Jazz Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. with a rebroadcast Saturday nights at 9.
Also, effective Monday, April 14 1A+ will now be heard weeknights at 11. Additionally, KRPS has added an extra hour of NPR’s Morning Edition. You can now hear ME weekday mornings from 4 a.m. until 9 a.m.
