Dan Bikes Kansas Day 10 - Garden City to Oakley, then Colby

Pittsburg State University President Dan Shipp, right, is joined by Kansas Regent Diane Mendoza and members of Shipp’s bike team in picking up trash along the Santa Fe Trail historic site west of Dodge City, Kansas, on Tuesday.

As of press time Tuesday evening, the campaign had raised $4.4 million in pledges.

Santa Fe Trail served as the pioneer highway from 1821 to 1872, connecting the eastern U.S. to Santa Fe, New Mexico and allowing traders to move goods across the country safely and easily.
