The opening event of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Innovation and Technology Summit gets underway tonight. Ahead of Friday's Tech Summit, the JACC is holding a Pre-Conference Networking Event at Pennington Station in downtown Joplin from 5:30 to 9 pm.

Erin Sflika with the Joplin Chamber says that the Networking event and Tech Summit are free to attend, but you must register first.

"This is for those who have registered and are interested. It's limited capacity, and we'll be over at Pennington Station. And this is an opportunity for our speakers to network with each other and some of the participants who have come in early from outside the area."

The Tech Summit is being held at James River Church in Joplin. The schedule includes Keynotes speakers, numerous breakout sessions, a Pitch Competition, and Tech Expo. The conference also provides breakfast and lunch. Doors open tomorrow at 7 am, with the final event scheduled for 3:30 pm.

For over two months in the fall of 2022 he worked remotely with NPR staff to relaunch krps.org to an NPR style news and information website.

In the fall of 2023 Fred was promoted to Interim General Manager and was appointed GM in Feburary of 2024.
