As Daylight Saving Time nears March 12; the BBC World Service schedule adjusts for two weeks

The 2023 spring interim schedule is effective Sunday, March 12 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

BBC World Service listeners throughout the US will notice the broadcaster's schedule will sound a little different starting Sunday, March 12.

Don't worry though, the time shift will only last two weeks.

The US moves to Daylight Saving Time on March 12, while the United Kingdom where the BBC originates from shifts to DST two weeks later on Sunday March 26.

KRPS's online schedule has been changed to reflect the two-week time shift.

The largest change is that most programs shift one hour forward.

Also, the BBC's 2023 summer schedule will go into effect Sunday, March 26, 2023 through Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Since 2017 Fred Fletcher-Fierro has driven up Highway 171 through thunderstorms, downpours, snow, and ice storms to host KRPS’s Morning Edition. He’s also a daily reporter for the station, covering city government, elections, public safety, arts, entertainment, culture, sports and more. Fred has also spearheaded and overseen a sea change in programming for KRPS from a legacy classical station to one that airs a balance of classical, news, jazz, and cultural programming that better reflects the diverse audience of the Four States. For over two months in the fall of 2022 he worked remotely with NPR staff to relaunch krps.org to an NPR style news and information website.

In the fall of 2023 Fred was promoted to Interim General Manager and was appointed GM in Feburary of 2024.
