International Beverage Manufacturer Expands in Joplin

Refreshco Group, Europe's largest beverage manufacturer runs several operations in the US resulting in several health and safety violations by OSHA in New Jersey and their Washington State plant. Between 2019 and 2021 the company was hit with 40 violations resulting in a $440,000 fine.

A European-based beverage manufacturer announced a multi-million expansion in Joplin on Friday.

KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Refresco, a European-based beverage manufacturer, announced last week that it will expand its Joplin location, investing more than $30.5 million and creating 40 new jobs.

The expansion will include the addition of a new production line to increase capacity at its distribution center. Governor Mike Parson praised the expansion, saying that it is a testament to Missouri's low costs, skilled workforce, and commitment to infrastructure.

He said that the expansion would provide benefits for Missourians in the area, including new jobs and economic growth. Refresco is a leading beverage manufacturer with operations in more than 70 countries.

The company's products include soft drinks, fruit juices, and other bottled beverages. The new jobs created by the expansion will pay an average wage well above the county average.

Refresco will also benefit from the Missouri Works program, which provides financial incentives to companies that create new jobs in the state. The expansion is a welcome development for Joplin and the surrounding area.

It will create new jobs, boost the local economy, and provide a boost to the region's manufacturing sector
