Pittsburg State Veteran's Day Ceremony takes place next Tuesday November 11. This year's ceremony will feature Dr. Carol Meza-Bakke, a 2014 graduate of Pittsburg State University and an Army combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient with 12 years of military experience. The ceremony will place at PSU’s Veterans Memorial.

Titanic: An Immersive Voyage will be on display at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri starting this Saturday. The exhibit includes 200 authentic artifacts from Titanic and her sister ships. November 8th, see the show Mutts Gone Nuts at the Cornell Complex in Joplin. Created by comedy duo Scott and Joan Houghton, it features rescue dogs performing extraordinary tricks. Tickets can be bought on connect2culture dot org or at the box office and the doors will open at 1:30 pm.
The Ronald McDonald House in Joplin is having its annual tree lighting and open house on November 8th.The open house begins at 4 pm and includes live entertainment, refreshments, crafts and more. The tree lighting takes place at 5:30 pm.
And November 13th, Watered Gardens Ministry is hosting its annual Empty Bowls fundraiser at Suzanne’s Natural Foods. For 25 dollars you’ll get a handcrafted bowl from an area artist and a serving of soup. That will be from 11 am to 2 pm.
November 8th, Walnut Events is hosting the Fall Back Bash at Mike Fox Memorial Park in Walnut. It begins at 11 am and includes vendors, food trucks and a silent auction. The event will be moved to Walnut Hall in case of inclement weather.
A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house for the Frontenac Public Library and Heritage Hall Museum will be held on November 11th. The ribbon cutting starts at 5:30 pm. Refreshments will be available afterwards at the open house.
And on November 15th the Pittsburg Public Library is hosting another Scrabble Club meeting. Come and go from 1 to 3 pm to play as many games of Scrabble as you wish.
