Crimson & Gold Connection: ‘Dial M For Murder’ at PSU

Even 70 years after ‘Dial M For Murder’ debuted in May of 1954 the story continues to resonate. The story was recreated as a movie 1998’s, A Perfect Murder starring Micheal Douglas. The sitcom Frasier titled an episode, ‘Dial M for Martin’ that followed a similar plot involving characters during season six.

This week on the Crimson and Gold Connection, KRPS Senior Announcer Matthew Witt spoke with the head of Pittsburg State’s Theatre department, Megan Westhoff about the upcoming performance of 'Dial M for Murder'.

The play will be directed by Dr. Westoff, from an adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher from the original by Frederick Knott.

To summarize the story, Tony Wendice married his wife, Margot, for her money and now plans to murder her for it. In the play that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller film, this updated adaptation has plot-twisting turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Find out if Tony will get away with the perfect crime.

It’s taking place April 18-21, 2024 - Thursday-Saturday @ 7:30 pm | Saturday & Sunday @ 2:00 pm at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.
