Dr. Bechtel knew early that music would become an integral part of her identity. She grew up singing and playing piano in her church in Eureka, KS two hours west of Pittsburg on a cattle ranch listening to a lot of country western music.

Even 70 years after ‘Dial M For Murder’ debuted in May of 1954 the story continues to resonate. The story was recreated as a movie 1998’s, A Perfect Murder starring Micheal Douglas. The sitcom Frasier titled an episode, ‘Dial M for Martin’ that followed a similar plot involving characters during season six.

Neosho Art Council holds its largest fundraiser of the year this weekend. The one-day event will help fund the NAC for the remainder of the year. ArtCon is focused on being family friendly. Once you purchase an armband you can come and go to events as much as you want.

This season C2C will feature five series including its flagship, Curtains Up which features high-quality, national bands, musicians, and groups. While the Ignite series provides performances for school-age children and seeks to engage, educate and inspire.

Now in it's 11th year, the festival will feature hallmark performances such as the Bells of the Balkans, but also new concerts from well-known names like PSU Professor Emeritus Rusty Jones and Friends. It will also be the final event for festival organizer Raul Munguia who has taken a new position at a university in the northeastern US.

WritersFest kicks off tonight at 6 (03/27) with an open mic for local poets at TJ Lelands in downtown Pittsburg. Readers will include Laura Lee Washburn, Lori Martin, Chris Anderson, and Olive Sullivan. Hunt performs Tuesday night at 7 at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts at PSU.
