Bob Wolfe started Always Buying Books in 2001 with $6,000 and approximately 4,000 books. Now with 40,000 used and new books on the shelves, Wolfe and store manager Alyse Foley work to continue their success and help out in the community.

The book follows Cecily Foster, a podcast producer who gets the long-awaited chance to host her own show. But, it’s a dating show with her as the main character, and it inevitably interferes with her personal life.

The introductory, six-film summer Banned Book series is free and open to 13-18 year old's. The opening selection is Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on Saturday June 10.

Joplin Reads Together aims to increase awareness of the Library and its services, provide a shared experience, and connect our community to our partner organizations - Post Art Library, Missouri Southern State University Spiva Library, Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Friends of the Joplin Public Library. Community members can participate by reading the book, tracking their progress on Beanstack, and joining programs offered throughout the month of April.
